From the Mouths of Babes (or, well, a 2nd grader)

The other day, Jonathan and I were over at my family's house having dinner. During the course of our visit, my 8-year-old younger sister starting talking about school, and then we had a conversation that went something along these lines...
Me: What grade are you in?

Sister: What grade do you think I'm in?

Me: Third grade?

Sister: (with rising enthusiasm in her voice) Do you really think I'm in third grade?!

Me: I'm sorry...I forgot.

Sister: (pause) You're like a stranger to me.
Oh dear sister, I do believe you have inherited some of that sassy-ness that I know I had when I was your age. I suppose that I should do my best to always try to remember what grade you're in.

Later that day she asked me, "Are you ever going to forget my name?"

I think my little sister is still trying to get used to me being married and living somewhere that she does not. But that's just a guess.

My sister (15) is having a hard time adjusting as well. Hope you guys are doing well :) Tell J he needs to freaking update sometime!

@ Julie: Yes, my little sister is funny. The week Jonathan and I got back from our honeymoon, she also asked me "Are you still my sister?" That was a little saddening, but I couldn't help but chuckle as well.

@ Nate: It's good to hear from you! I have really tried telling him that he needs to update. But so far it hasn't worked.

She does keep us in stitches! And yes, she does remind me of you when you were her age. Gasp! Actually, if she turns out like you, I couldn't be happier!

Love,

Mom

That is SO sad! (Just kidding. Actually, it's funny... I agree.)

Sorry that my picture shows up beside Mom's post. Can't figure out how to do it otherwise. I guess we need to register Mom for her own account.

That is funny. After I got married Mike and I stayed at my mom and dad's house and my sister wanted me to sleep in bed with her. We used to share a room. I didn't do it and she got upset w/ me...and she was 15. haha

@ jessilyn: Aww...that's so sweet. No matter what the age, I think it's always hard for siblings to get used to their brothers and sisters moving out.
